Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation: $50 Million Commitment for increased access to affordable Covid-19 Vaccines

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announces an additional $50 million commitment to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance to purchase COVID-19 vaccines and support the delivery of these vaccines to 92 lower-income countries.

This supported Gavi in exceeding today’s fundraising target at the COVAX AMC Summit hosted by Japan, a critical step towards equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. A huge thank you to the donors, past and present.

By funding COVAX and sharing excess COVID-19 vaccines to those who need them, high-income countries can support equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines and bring the world closer to controlling the pandemic.

We’ve said it before, and we will keep saying it: No one is safe from COVID-19 until everyone is safe. Accelerating equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines globally will save lives.
