Tech Mahindra Foundation appoints Chetan Kapoor as CEO

Kapoor will lead a team of eight people responsible for the implementation of over 150 projects in Education and Skill Development across 11 cities.

Tech Mahindra Foundation appoints Chetan Kapoor as CEO. The bastion of the CEO position is passed from Rakesh Soni. The appointment of Kapoor as the Foundation’s CEO came into effect on 1st November 2022. Kapoor will lead a team of eight people responsible for the implementation of over 150 projects in Education and Skill Development across 11 cities. 

Various Roles in Tech Mahindra Foundation

The new CEO has over two decades of experience in the Education and Skill Development Sectors. Kapoor held the position of Chief Operating Officer in October 2016. Prior to that, he was working as a Consultant with the Foundation since April 2012. During these years with the foundation, Kapoor conceptualized the Foundation’s flagship Skill Development Program. This program is now one of the largest CSR-led urban skill development programs in India. 

Experience in Development Sector

Before working at the Foundation, Kapoor has immense experience working in the impact sector. He worked with American India Foundation as Regional Head. In this role, he headed the Digital Equaliser Program for the promotion of the use of technology in government schools. He also held the position of Director of the Program in Pratham. In this role, he worked extensively in managing mass primary education programs. He headed these programs in Delhi, UP, and Bihar in North India. He also worked as a consultant in Tata trust in evaluating the Tata Trust Migrant Support Programme.  

Entrepreneurial Journey

Kapoor co-founded a consulting company Edulever. The organization is a resource and consulting firm for CSR and development sectors. He co-founded Agrasar, a developmental organization working for Skills, Social Security, and Education in Gurugram. Kapoor worked in building teams to manage operations for working on projects related to Education, Employability, and Migration.  

Before stepping into the Impact Sector, Kapoor worked with Apollo Tyres Pvt Ltd. He holds a Master’s in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
