Maharshi Vaishnav – CEO of Educate Girls

Vaishnav will be responsible for continuing to create a larger impact in the field of girls’ education by expanding the organization’s impact base. 

Educate Girls organization has appointed Maharshi Vaishnav as their Chief Executive Officer. Earlier Vaishnav was donning the role of Chief Operating Officer in the same organization. He picked on various hats in the organization by being Global Development Director, and Chief of Staff. 

He successfully fulfilled the role of COO by leading a team of 2,200 changemakers across 18,000 villages in India. These changemakers were responsible for identifying the marginalized girls and convincing them to proceed with their education. He also managed a team that raised $60 million in funding in 5 years. 

Vaishnav steps into this role with a treasure of 15 years of experience in communications, advocacy, and international development. Before coming to the development sector, he dwelled in the private sector with his stints in McCann Worldgroup and Piramal Enterprises Limited. He was also responsible to provide communication advisory services to Fortune 500 organizations. 

Before joining Educate Girls, he was a fellow with Grameen Foundation where he worked to help women entrepreneurs through mobile technology solutions. 

Vaishnav holds a graduate degree in Public Policy and Business. 

Educate Girls founded by Safeena Hussain is a non-profit organization working in the area of education for girls from marginalized communities. The focus area of this organization is rural and remote areas of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The organization has various awards on its shelves including India’s Most Ethical Companies Award 2015 and Nasscom Foundation Social Innovation Award 2016.
