Centre for Social Justice has launched a ‘Young Professionals Programme for Legal Empowerment’. The program gives young legal professionals an experience of legal empowerment at the grassroots level to bring social change. 

Program Details 

Here are the program details for Young Professionals Programme for Legal Empowerment. 

  1. A group of young legal professionals will be placed for a minimum period of two years in the field where the organization is implementing its interventions.
  2. A learning/ performance roadmap will be developed jointly with the selected candidates. 
  3. Each individual will spend a substantial duration in the field areas. 
  4. The remaining time will be dedicated to research and writing, reflections, inputs, and capacity building.
Fellowship Experience 
  1. Conduct field-based research on law and policy issues for formulating interventions and creating policy documents.
  2. Coordinate training and capacity-building programs and develop training materials. 
  3. Collaborate/coordinate programs with stakeholders including representations with various government authorities. 
  4. Contribute to the legal work of the organization.
  5. Organize events to initiate public debate on issues.
  6. Bring creative approaches and perspectives to the existing work of the organization.
Eligibility 

Here are the eligibility criteria for the program 

  1. The Program is open to young law graduates/legal professionals who wish to pursue a career in the field of human rights. 
  2. Willingness to engage with field realities, to live in challenging conditions, and to travel extensively, are things every candidate must be willing to do.
  3. Candidates must, above all, display a strong drive, motivation, and commitment toward working for social change. 
Stipend 

A stipend of Rs. 33,000/- per month for selected candidates. The Program is a two-year engagement. At the end of the mandatory one-year commitment, candidates would have the option to either continue working with CSJ or opt out.
